This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website and in the course of providing construction services, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario law.

Construction Force General Contractors is a general contracting business operating throughout the Greater Toronto Area, with an office at 3174 Hines Dr, Oakville, Ontario, L6M 0Z9. We are the party responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

This policy covers our website at constructionforce.ca and any related pages, forms and communications, as well as personal information we collect from clients, prospective clients, property owners and site visitors during estimates, consultations and construction work.

02 Information We Collect

Information you give us directly

• Contact details — your name, email address, phone number and mailing or job site address.
• Project information — the project type you select, descriptions of the work you want done, budgets, timelines, site conditions, existing drawings, permits, photographs of your property, and any other details you send us through the contact form, by email, by phone or in person.
• Correspondence — messages, quote requests, change requests, complaints and any notes we make during consultations or site visits.
• Billing information — invoicing details and payment records. We do not collect or store full credit card numbers on our website.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our web host records basic technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit. This information is used for security, troubleshooting and understanding general traffic patterns.

Information from other sources

We may receive information about you from property owners, property managers, architects, engineers, designers, insurers, or from public records such as land registry and municipal permit records, where that information is needed to carry out a project.

03 How We Use Your Information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked us to.

04 Consent

By submitting our contact form, emailing us, calling us or engaging us to perform work, you consent to our collecting, using and disclosing your personal information for the purposes described in this policy. Where the law requires express consent, we will ask for it separately.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. If you withdraw consent, we may no longer be able to provide you with a quote or carry out your project. Records we are required by law to retain — such as invoices, safety records and contract documents — will be kept for the applicable retention period regardless.

05 Who We Share Your Information With

Construction work involves other parties. We disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary, and only to those who need it:

• Subcontractors and trades — for example electricians, plumbers, HVAC installers, framers, drywallers, painters and concrete crews who need your address, site access details and scope information to do their work.
• Suppliers and delivery services — to deliver materials to your site.
• Design and engineering consultants — architects, designers and engineers engaged on your project.
• Municipal and regulatory authorities — building departments, inspectors, utilities and conservation authorities, where permits, approvals or inspections require it.
• Service providers — our web host, email provider, accounting, bookkeeping and payment processors, who act on our behalf and are required to protect the information they handle.
• Insurers, adjusters and legal advisors — where a claim, dispute or lien arises.
• Law enforcement or others — where we are required or permitted to disclose by law, court order or legal process.
• A successor — if our business is sold or reorganized, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

06 Project Photographs and Video

We routinely photograph and record work in progress and completed projects for quality control, documentation, warranty and marketing purposes. These images may appear on our website, in proposals, or on our social media pages.

07 Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses a minimal number of cookies and similar technologies. Some are strictly necessary for the site to function and for basic security. We may also use analytics tools to understand how visitors find and use the site, in aggregate form.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies will not prevent you from using the site, though some features may behave differently.

08 Third-Party Content on Our Site

Our project gallery may embed photos and videos hosted on third-party platforms, and our pages load fonts from a third-party font service. When your browser loads that content, the provider may receive your IP address and set its own cookies. Those providers handle that information under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. If this concerns you, you can block third-party content through your browser settings.

09 How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes it was collected for, or as required by law. In practice:

• Enquiries that do not lead to a project are generally deleted within two years.
• Contracts, invoices, change orders and accounting records are kept for at least seven years to meet tax and record-keeping requirements.
• Project documentation, drawings and photographs may be kept longer to support warranty, lien and liability obligations.

When information is no longer needed, we destroy, erase or anonymize it securely.

10 How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections to our website, access controls on our email and file storage, and limiting access to staff and contractors who need it.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please do not send us highly sensitive information — such as banking details, government identification numbers or passwords — through the website contact form.

11 Your Rights

Subject to certain legal exceptions, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used and disclosed.
• Request access to a copy of that information.
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.

12 Information Stored Outside Canada

Some of our service providers, including our web hosting and email providers, may store or process data on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. Information stored in another country is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts and law enforcement agencies.

13 Children's Privacy

Our website and services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
